TENCEL: Some of our Hemp fabrics are blended with a wonderful textile called Tencel. Tencel is a fabric made from a wood pulp and has a heavenly soft feel. It is also very comfortable to wear in an environment with high temperature/humidity because it breathes so well.

Breastfeed in Public

Did you know that you can very easily nurse your baby without anyone ever seeing a thing! Breastfeeding provides such invaluable nutrition and can create such a strong bond between mom and baby; so why stop that bonding when you are out-and-about? Continue to provide your baby with your irreplaceable breastmilk whenever he/she is hungry without any hinderance! The momma in the picture to your right is nursing her baby discreetly, but you can even cover up your baby entirely with the tail (the loose end) of your sling! Personally, we do not feel that a mom should have to cover up to nurse her baby while in public, but we also know that everyone has their own views/feelings on this subject and we greatly respect that!

Why use a Pretty Momma Sling?

There are so many reasons why slings are useful. The obvious being that you can carry baby with you, easily. We have done several years worth of research to find out why slings are beneficial to both mom (or dad, grandma, etc.) and to baby. Here are a few reasons:
1 - It is truly a hands-free way to carry baby. You can carry baby securely against you while doing the laundry, writing at your desk, or simply just walking!

Below you will find the details of the available options you can have on your Pretty Momma Baby Sling:

Lightly Padded edges:
Many first time sling users like our lightly padded slings because it provides additional support for baby’s head and legs without being bulky. The light padding in the edges do not hinder the adjustability of your sling; your sling will still be 100% adjustable. The padding is sewn in and therefore, will not bunch up when washed. For our organic and hemp baby slings, only 100% organic cotton padding is used.

Lightly padded shoulder:
The shoulder pad provides a bit more cushion for your shoulder, is very comfortable, un-restrictive and not bulky. For our organic and hemp baby slings, only 100% organic cotton padding is used.

Pocket:
Our pocket is an open pocket (no closure) because this will provide the quickest in and out of your items, but the pocket is deep, so your items usually stay put. The pocket is large enough to hold a cloth diaper (or a disposable), a few wipes and a cell phone. What a nice way to go out-and-about without having to carry a diaper bag.

Sizing Guide for your Baby Sling

What is my sling size? Slings come in 3 sizes and these sizes only affect how long the sling will be (the width does not change with the sizes):
* Small (approx. 1 yard and 30 inches)
Great for people who are 5 feet, 1 inch or shorter and weight 110 pounds or less
* Medium (approx. 2 yards and 3 inches) Perfect for the majority of people
* Large (approx. 2 yards and 12 inches) Great for large/plus size people who are nursing

SIZING RECOMMENDATIONS: If you are a small size and will be using the sling to nurse your baby in or using the tail as a shield, then a medium size may be more accommodating. The medium size will fit most people, as well as breastfeeding mom's. The large size will fit you if you are a large/plus-sized person AND breastfeeding (or need a shield from the wind/sun).

COMPARE: If you are 5 feet 3 inches, weigh 160 lbs and are a 'C' cup, a small will reach your hips, medium will reach your mid-thigh and the large will reach your knees.

CUSTOM SIZING: If you are unsure of your size or would just rather have a custom fitted sling, please take a tape measure and hold it on one shoulder, bring it down across your front to your opposite hip, up your back and to the place you first started with on your shoulder. Then bring your tape measure down to where you would like your sling to end. If you are not breastfeeding (or will not use the tail for any other reason) then we would recommend you measure to your hip. If you are breastfeeding (or will be using the tail for any other reason) then we recommend the tail come to your mid-thigh or lower. Please let us know this number in inches.

Baby Sling Ring Guide Sling rings (which are the buckles for the sling) are specifically designed for slings and can withstand several hundred pounds of weight and lock into place (just like a seat-belt buckle). You have a choice between aluminum, nylon or metal rings.
There are a few differences between them all, but they all are really a matter of personal preference, since they are all specifically designed for slings anyway:

Aluminum rings:
* Available colors: Silver and blue
* Very lightweight
* Have a “sleek” look to them.

Plastic rings:
* White in color
* Lightweight
* These rings are slightly thicker in diameter than the metal or aluminum rings and are great if you prefer to have white rings!

WASHING RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that you machine wash your sling(s) in cold water and hang to dry. However, to soften up your sling you may wash and then dry in the dryer with fabric softener. You may iron your sling if needed (cool iron only on SolarWeave fabrics).
